Louis Smith is keen to prove that although he’s the favourite to win, he’s coping just fine with the stress of it all.
‘The pressure’s always been on me,’ says Louis. ‘Olympians carry a responsibility where people think we’re invincible and the best at everything, whereas really we’re starting off the same as everybody else.
‘At the end of the day, when you go to the top of the leader board, you have the expectation that you’ll win now, but all you can do is have fun.’
His partner, Flavia, adds, ‘I want to get him to the best standard he possibly can be. It’s not about winning or getting to the top of the leader board, it’s just producing the best possible routine that you can.’
But Louis reveals she’s a strict taskmaster and even has a horse whip in training!
Meanwhile, Lisa Riley reveals that although she’s pleased to be toning up on the show, she couldn’t care less about how much weight she loses.
‘I don’t know how much I’ve lost,’ she says. ‘It doesn’t bother me at all. I’m not in this to lose weight, I’m in this to dance. It’s just important to me that I can do stuff I couldn’t before.’
