Victoria Pendleton has impressed us as she’s improved vastly since her week one dis-as-tah on Strictly Come Dancing.
But she admits that as an athlete, she struggles with the acting involved in dancing. ‘As lovely as Brendan is, he’s not my fiancé, so dancing the tango, which involves staying away from each other as opposed to pretending to be in love with each other, was really enjoyable for me!’ she says. ‘I’m not an actress, so pretending to be in love with someone for a week is actually quite hard.’
And Victoria says her fiancé, Scott Gardner, has no problems with her getting up close and personal with bad boy Brendan during training. ‘It’s a good thing Scott is very secure in our relationship, so there are no issues there,’ she says. ‘He has been very supportive of me during Strictly, running me a bath when I get home from training with sore feet, and coming to the studio every week.’
It turns out Victoria isn’t the only one in her family who’s taken a turn on the dancefloor, as she reveals her dad was a ballet dancer up to the age of 14. Does that mean we can expect a pas-de-deux on the show soon?
