Strictly Come Dancing‘s first live show last weekend was full of surprises – what are we heading into this Saturday…
Previous frontrunner Victoria Pendleton was the shock of the night when she sunk to the bottom of the leader board, while Lisa Riley managed the impossible and won praise from surly judge Craig Revel Horwood.
With such an unexpected turn of events in the first show, it looks like this series is going to be the best yet. Olympian Louis Smith is currently favourite to win with odds of 9/4, quickly followed by Kimberley Walsh (10/3) and Denise Van Outen (7/2).
But our columnist Richard Arnold has been lumped in with Johnny Ball at 66/1 to win the show! Come on Richard – we know you can show them!
As for what’s to come this week, tearful Victoria confesses, ‘I wouldn’t actually mind Brendan being tougher on me. He’s nothing in comparison to some coaches I’ve had!’
Meanwhile, Denise – who danced an elegant waltz with James Jordan – admits she can’t wait for the fast dances. ‘I’m really looking forward to the sexy Latin numbers because I feel like I’m more suited to them,’ she says. ‘Personality wise, it’s more of a match. There’s more to get your teeth into and you can be a bit sexy. I like more fast-paced styles because I’ve got a lot of energy and I want to use it.’
And it’s even been reported that Jerry Hall has requested her own flying trick, following in the flight-path of Anton du Beke’s former partner Ann Widdecombe.
We can’t wait to see what the dancers have got up their sequinned sleeves for this weekend!
