Yes, we were as stunned as you, but Mr Nasty himself told us, ‘Amanda looks cute! I like the new hair.’
The music mogul also revealed what he’s looking for in this year’s show.
‘I’m not mental about gymnasts and stuff like that,’ he said. ‘You’ve got to be original – don’t copy what you’ve seen before. It’s the unexpected we’re looking for. We want something that’s going to go viral.’
In a move that has surprised some, last year’s successful judging panel including David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Simon, has been kept on.
‘There wasn’t a question of changing the panel,’ Simon tells us.
And asked whether his presence was pivotal to the show’s success, modest Simon had this to say: ‘I know the difference between a good and bad audition, and I can help them improve. I can help with song choices, what they should and shouldn’t be doing.
‘That’s why I’m pivotal to the show.’
