Hot off the success of her role in ITV1 drama Mrs Biggs, which concluded last night, Sheridan Smith has signed up for a new – and very different – part.
She’ll be working on the adaptation of David Walliams’ kids’ book, Mr Stink, alongside Downton’s Hugh Bonneville who will play the tramp befriended by young girl Chloe.
Sheridan will play Chloe’s mum, Mrs Crumb, with Johnny Vegas playing her dad, Mr Crumb.
‘David is such a brilliant writer, and the character just jumped off the page when I read it. I can’t wait to work with Hugh and Johnny,’ says Sheridan.
The drama is set to be broadcast near Christmas. In the meantime, read about Sheridan’s Best and Worst of Times in this week’s issue of Woman’s Own.
