Pippa Middleton finally married her fiancé James Matthews in a lavish countryside wedding at the weekend.

The ‘society wedding of the year’ took place in Englefield, at St Mark’s Church in Berkshire.

Attended by a who’s-who of society guests and royal family members, the tiny countryside church was overwhelmed with the world’s media and well-wishers, all clamouring to get a glimpse of the beautiful bride and her famous family.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister looked stunning in a floral lace dress by designer Giles Deacon. With her hair up in a simple yet chic style, Pippa wore a floor-sweeping veil with the capped sleeve gown.

The bride’s white wedding dress was almost on the verge of looking a little worse for wear early on in the day, when little Princess Charlotte stepped on the bottom of it, followed by her cheeky big brother Prince George. However, mum Kate was quick to pull them aside and warn them off any further naughty behaviour on their Aunty Pippa’s big day.

The Duchess of Cambridge had previously revealed that she was worried her children might misbehave on the day, as “you never know” what children of George and Charlotte’s age might do. However, she need not have worried. After a quick firm word from Kate, her two young children were perfectly well behaved and interacted sweetly with each other before and after the service.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte didn’t disappoint the crowds eagerly awaiting their arrival and the chance to catch a glimpse of the sweet young royals playing pageboy and flower girl at their Aunt’s wedding.

With the Duchess of Cambridge keeping a close eye on them, the adorable siblings chatted excitedly with the other young members of Pippa’s wedding party, whilst taking in their surroundings.

The Duchess of Cambridge looked smart and sophisticated in a dusky pink dress with a matching hat. Kate’s outfit was by Alexander McQueen, the label behind her own iconic wedding dress from six years ago and a nice homage to her own big day in 2011.

After months of speculation, Prince Harry turned up to the church with his brother Prince William – but without his American girlfriend Meghan Markle.

However, the loved-up Prince was seen later in the day arriving at the evening reception in his 4×4 with girlfriend Meghan beaming in the front seat. Reports suggest that Harry completed a 100 mile round trip to collect Meghan from Kensington Palace and personally chauffeur her to the reception. It’s reported that Meghan, 35, didn’t attend the wedding service at the church, as she didn’t want to take any attention away from Pippa on her big day.

The reception was held in a purpose-built beautiful glass marquee on the Middleton estate. Although the evening’s events are shrouded in secrecy, The Daily Mirror reports that the speech by the best man had the well-to-do wedding guests squirming in the seats as he made jokes about the couple and also referenced, “Pippa Middleton’s famous rear”. Awkward!
