Tensions are high at the palace

Prince Andrew has demanded that his two daughters should be housed in Kensington Palace in a furious letter to the Queen.

Andrew, 56, believes Princess Beatrice, 28, and Eugenie, 26, should be treated the same as their cousins William and Harry. And be ‘full time royals’.

The request was reportedly passed on to Charles, who then blocked the move.

A royal source told The Sun: “Andrew has always wanted his daughters to be full-time royals.

“He sees it as a slight on him and them if they are not.

“But Charles calls the shots and he wants the royal family giving value for money.”

The girls are currently living in a ‘small’ shared flat St James’ Palace. Eugenie works at a local art gallery, while Beatrice has been unemployed since July.

The source added: “His private secretary originally drafted a letter and couched it in very reasonable terms.

“But the Duke did not think it made his case strongly enough so tore it up and put pen to paper himself.

“He believes his daughters are being overshadowed by William, Kate and Harry and it will get worse as Prince George and Princess Charlotte get older.

“He fears that they will be totally sidelined when the Queen dies.”

This isn’t the first time tensions have risen between the two sides of the family. The friction between ‘blood princesses’ Beatrice and Eugenie and William’s wife Kate has also been well documented. Read more about Kate’s feud with the ‘old royals’ here.

Buckingham Palace have declined to comment on the matter.
