Piers Morgan replaced on Good Morning Britain and fans are divided…

He’s loud, opinionated and fans love to hate him as much as they like to watch him on TV. Although we could be talking about Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, in this instance, we’re actually referring to his replacement!

Piers Morgan will be taking a break from presenting duties on the ITV morning news show over the next few months. His replacement has been announced, and fans are divided over the news.

Fellow ITV star Jeremy Kyle will be filling in for Piers while he’s away. The feisty daytime TV talkshow presenter will be swapping domestic disputes for the morning news as he takes a seat next to Kate Garraway for a month.

In a statement, he said: “I’m really looking forward to being back on GMB this August to wake the nation up over the summer holidays. Now all I need to do is find my alarm clock!”

While some viewers welcome Jeremy Kyle’s return to the show, others were disappointed with the news.

One excited viewer wrote “Good choice with Jeremy Kyle though. Can’t wait!” But another tweeted, “Jeremy Kyle in the mornings, god give me strength” after hearing the news.

Others appealed to Piers Morgan directly over twitter, begging the presenter to return to the show, “please come back I can’t stand Jeremy Kyle” wrote one disappointed fan.

Much like Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield on ‘This Morning’, Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid are merely taking time off for a summer break. The presenting pair will be back on our screens in September.

In the mean time, Richard Madeley will also be appearing on GMB to help cover for Piers in his absence. The infamous ITV presenter said he was looking forward to a brief return to, “old times.”

“I’ve known Piers for 30 years so sitting in for him on GMB is an excellent opportunity to gather some inside information on him which I will unhesitatingly use to wind him up afterwards.

“Seriously though, I’m looking forward to it immensely and after all those years on This Morning the early starts will seem like old times.”
