Last year, we were treated to 24 hours of non-stop Phillip Schofield, as the presenter took to our TV screens for a marathon amount of time all in the name of charity.
This year, ITV are back with their successful Text Santa campaign, where the ‘telly family’ will get together to raise money for amazing charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish UK, and Save the Children.
After his successful stunt in 2014, This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield was determined to take on a new challenge this year to raise more money than ever before. So on 1st December, from 6am to 10pm, Phil appeared on every single TV show on ITV – from The Jeremy Kyle Show, and Judge Rinder, to Emmerdale and even the news!
“I don’t think it’s ever been done before” the 53-year-old father-of-two confessed. “It’s like Where’s Wally?…I’m in a different Christmas jumper on every show. I’m in every programme, but I promise I won’t get in your way of your favourites!”
Although he had already pre-recorded certain programmes like 1000 Heartbeats, and Harry Hill’s show, the real challenge for him was appearing in so many live shows on the day. But Phil was up to the challenge, and completed another successful stunt for charity!
Talking about the Text Santa campaign, which Phil and all of his ITV colleagues will be supporting, he said, “we’re fronting the terrific charitable work that so many people do and want to help raise as much money for them as possible.”
