Following the shock news of the Ant Mcpartlin rehab check in at the weekend, famous friends and fans have rallied around the TV presenter to show their support.
This weekend The Sun reported that TV star Ant McPartlin had checked himself into rehab. They also revealed that the well-loved presenter had confessed to struggling with depression and anxiety, which had ultimately led to substance abuse problems for the star.
The Britain’s Got Talent and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! presenter will spend the next two months in rehab.
He released a statement to The Sun on Sunday, after going to his wife, as well as best friend and co-host Dec, to confess he needed help.
“The first step is to admit to yourself you need help” Ant began.
“I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I am truly sorry” the emotional statement continued.
“I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time.
“I’ve spoken out because I think it’s important that people ask for help if they’re going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.”
It is reported that Ant became addicted to painkillers after under going intensive knee surgery two years ago.

Ant’s wife Lisa, 40, has spoken out since the news of her husband’s rehab stint was revealed. Taking to Twitter, Lisa McPartlin thanked her followers and Ant’s fans for their ‘overwhelming’ support.
“Completely overwhelmed by all your love & support it means so much,” she wrote.
Fellow celebrities and TV stars were quick to rally around Ant and show their support. Alan Sugar, face of The Apprentice, tweeted, “Very brave Ant to go public. This is the first stage of the road to recovery. All the best Ant it, will all be sorted for sure.”
Ant’s co-host and best friend, Declan also spoke out to thank people for rallying around the star during such a difficult time. “Thank you for all the kind messages and well wishes for the big fella” he wrote. “He will be touched. Your support is, as ever, much appreciated. DD xx”
