Actress Lynda Bellingham is said to be ‘devastated’ after being diagnosed with cancer.
Lynda, who is best known for her time on the Loose Women panel and as the infamous Oxo mum, has been forced to cancel a major theatre tour after being told she has the disease.
Although Lynda has not yet revealed any details about her condition she has released a statement announcing that she’s pulling out of a starring role in the theatre production of Kay Mellor’s A Passionate Woman.
Lynda, 65, said: ‘I’m devastated not to be able to honour my commitments to the play this year. But having toured many times before, I’m aware of the sheer stamina needed and I need to prioritise my recovery. That said, nothing’s going to stop me coming back next year, and I can’t wait to be “a passionate woman”’.
Lynda also took to her Twitter page to reassure her fans saying: ‘Hi everyone just to say I have been diagnosed with cancer but I am not going to die! Dealing with it and hope to be back at work soon.’
The actress has been a long time supporter of Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
