This is so heartbreaking!
It’s been three months since Luisana Lopilato and husband Michael Bublé received the happy news that their three-year-old son Noah has been successfully treated for liver cancer.
And while Noah’s jazz singer father has spoken of his family’s continued strength during their second son’s gruelling health battle, mum Luisana has revealed that memories of his initial diagnosis are still raw.
Initially Argentinian doctors though Noah had mumps then later an infection, but a scan from Noah’s paediatrician found “something” inside his stomach.
Opening up about the moment she realised something was terribly wrong during an emotional TV interview at her home in Vancouver, the Argentinian actress said:
“Mike wasn’t with me. He was just about to do a very important interview in England and I couldn’t get hold of him on the phone.
“So the day I found out Noah had something in his stomach and doctors didn’t really know what it was and whether it might be a tumour, I got a flight to the States.
“I got on a flight there that same night with just a small suitcase and without speaking to my husband.”
Luisana Lopilato – her heartbreak
That initial flight to LA turned into a seven month ordeal, as tests revealed Noah had cancer.
“We dropped everything. I stopped work on the film I was doing and Mike halted his tour,” Luisana said.
The 30-year-old also wept as she recalled the comforting visit she received from friends after Noah returned to Argentina following treatment.
“I’ve never spoken so much about this, that’s why I’m getting so emotional.”
And while the mum-of-two admitted that “the worst is over” she described Noah’s recovery as “a long and ongoing process.”
Our thoughts are with Luisana, Michael, Noah and Elias.
