Linda Robson miscarriage Loose Women

Linda Robson was moved to tears as she opened up about the miscarriage she experienced more than two decades ago.

Speaking during an appearance on Loose Women, where she is now a regular panellist, Linda, 59, revealed that she’d lost a baby a year before giving birth to her youngest daughter Bobbie in 1997.

‘I went to the hospital for a check-up and they started to scan me when the nurse went really quiet and said, “I’m just going to have to call a doctor”, so I knew something was wrong,’ she explained to her fellow hosts, as part of a segment entitled: ‘Can you ever get over the trauma of a miscarriage?’

‘And then they told me the news that the baby had died and they sent me home and said “You’ve got to come back tomorrow and we’re going to take the baby away”‘.

Linda, whose miscarriage occurred when she was three months pregnant, already had two children at the time; daughter Lauren, whom she and husband Mark Dunford welcomed in 1983, and son Louis, who was born in 1992.

She went on to speak about how the incident affected both her partner and her little boy, who was present at the appointment, becoming visibly emotional as she recalled their reactions.

‘Mark found it really distressing and kept thinking, “Did we do something? [When we made] love? Did something happen then?”‘, she admitted.

‘Going home knowing the baby’s dead inside you, going to bed… poor Louis, he was there and we were crying and everything. And it took a long time to get over it really.’

She added that they knew they were expecting a girl, who would now be a 23-year-old woman if she had been carried to term and born healthy.
