One of the most watched TV shows of our time, there can’t be many TV-owning people who can claim they’ve never seen an episode of Friends.
The Golden Globe and Emmy award winning show ran for an impressive 10 years. It made global stars of the six central characters. So successful was the series that it generated a lot of interest from celebrities all over the world wanting to make a guest appearance in Friends. From Jennifer Aniston’s then-husband Brad Pitt, to Bruce Willis and Reese Witherspoon. However, not all the stars who made guest appearances on the show would make the same decision again.
Elle MacPherson, 52, played Janine LeCroix on the show. Her character was Joey’s room mate, and then girlfriend.
She only appeared in five episodes of the hit show. However, former supermodel Elle has revealed that if she had known how popular the show was going to be, she would have turned down the role.
‘If I’d known how important it was in the U.S., or how long it would be on TV, I may not have chosen to do it’, she told Australia’s TV Weekly. ‘It was a lot of pressure if you look at it in the way that it will be around for 20 or 30 years.’
Elle also revealed that she was asked if she would stay on the show for longer. However she turned down the opportunity so that she could stay living in London.
She does however have some great memories from working on the show. Primairly, working alongside Matt Le Blanc who she describes as a, ‘Good working partner’. Most noteworthy, she also adds that Matt was a, “great kisser”!
