We can’t wait for the next episode of Downton Abbey tonight. And this week, two of the show’s stars have been revealing what they really think of the hit drama.

Joanne Froggatt (Anna) says, ‘I’m constantly surprised by the twists and turns in the scripts. I rip them open to see what happens next! The scene where Mr Bates was sentenced was the hardest for me.’

Meanwhile, Hugh Bonneville (Lord Grantham) says of the upstairs/downstairs house, ‘The structure is bonkers, but fascinating.’ Asked which scenes are particularly difficult to film, he says ‘Any scene involving Isis, as she’s a moody little bitch!’

Downton Abbey is on ITV1 tonight at 9pm.
