If, like us, you’re counting down the days until the fourth series of Downton Abbey hits our screens, make the wait a little bit easier with our round up of the latest Downton news.
– Downton will see it’s first ever black character join the show. The character, called Jack Ross, is described as ‘black and very handsome. A real man (not a boy) with charm and charisma. Aged 25-30, he is a musician (singer) at an exclusive club.’ We wonder who’ll land the role…
– There will also be a new love interest for Lady Mary Crawley, whose husband Matthew Crawley (played by Dan Stevens) was shockingly killed in a car crash, leaving his widow with an infant son. Lady Mary’s new suitor, called Lord Anthony Gillingham, is described as ‘good looking, very charismatic’ 35 to 45-year-old with a ‘perfect cut glass accent. He’s warm and charming, but also a strong man with morals.’ Posh and pretty? Lucky Mary!
– The last new character Sir John Bullock sounds like he’s going to stir up some trouble in Downton Abbey as it was revealed the actor who plays him ‘must be able to act drunk.’ Ooh er!
Series four of Downton Abbey will begin filming in March, and will start on ITV1 in the Autumn.
