Dan Stevens talks about his weight lossFormer Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens has revealed the real reason behind why he lost two stone.

Dan, who played Matthew Crawley in the hit BBC show, said: ‘I’ve lost about 30lbs since New Year, which, in British terms, is about two to three chins. It was for a role.’

He also went on to add: ‘It’s always me, just different incarnations, different roles, different costumes, difference sizes.’

The weight loss was spurred on by a new role in Liam Neeson’s next film, A Walk Among The Tombstones.

And for those Downton fans who are still sad by the fact Dan, 30, decided to quit the role last year the actor revealed that it was his choice. He said: ‘It was my decision. A very difficult one too – but it felt like the right thing to do.’
