Cheryl and Liam baby: all the latest news about their new arrival!
Are Cheryl and Liam in hot water over their baby name dilemma and delay?!
Cheryl and Liam Payne finally revealed the name of their little boy last week after weeks of speculation as to what the pop-star couple would call him. However, the relief of finally settling on a name could be short lived for the couple! The reason? They may be fined for the delay on choosing a name for their child!
The fine is connected with the process of registering a baby’s birth. The Mail on Sunday reported that despite welcoming their first child on March 22nd, the couple have not yet signed all the necessary paperwork associated with registering their son’s birth. As a result, Cheryl and Liam could be facing a fine of up to £200.
The government website states:
All births in England, Wales and Northern Ireland must be registered within 42 days of the child being born. You should do this at the local register office for the area where the baby was born or at the hospital before the mother leaves.
Supposedly, the new parents delayed registering the birth of their son because they couldn’t settle on a name. A source revealed, “They wanted to get to know him before they decided on the name.”
Cheryl and Liam name their baby boy!
Cheryl and Liam finally announced the name of their baby boy and we know one TV star who’s going to feel hugely complemented. The A-list couple have picked the name Bear for their adorable five-week old.
Bear – who like his TV adventurer namesake is sure to win hearts – is also taking his father’s surname.
The Island star was quick to express his delight upon hearing that Cheryl and Liam had chosen his name for their little one. “Great choice! Love & blessings to you guys as you start on the greatest adventure…” Bear tweeted. Liam responded to the extreme survival guide saying, “Thanks man hope he grows with an ounce of your courage! Your a boss.”
A source revealed: “Cheryl and Liam wanted to get to know their baby before deciding on a name.
“They spent over a week getting to know him first before deciding…they didn’t have the name Bear before the birth.
“But they’d been thinking of a name since meeting him and they just felt it suited him.
“They love their little baby Bear Payne and are truly over the moon and loving being parents for the first time together.”
We think this is sooo sweet!
Could these be the first pictures of Cheryl and Liam’s baby?
They announced the news of the new arrival with a Insta snap of Liam cradling their baby in their arms, but we haven’t seen much of the little bubba since then. That was until Cheryl’s hair stylist Daya Ruci shared some pics of a bouncing baby boy – mysteriously concealing his face.
Naturally fans were quick to put two and two together, with many guessing it to be Chiam (that’s Cheryl + Liam) junior. And there’s even a accompanying vid!
Could this really be him? We certainly hope so!
Cheryl opens up about the joys of motherhood
She’s a proud mum to a healthy little boy, and Cheryl just can’t contain her excitement over her adorable bundle of joy. The singer updated her Instagram bio to read ‘Living in a love bubble’. Over at Liam’s Instagram things were looking similarly rosy, with 25-year-old simply putting the word ‘happy’ to describe his feelings as a first time father.
And although the couple haven’t gone into much detail about their brief time as parents – including keeping schtum over their baby’s name – music mogul Simon Cowell was more than happy to take up the baton.
On the former X Factor judge becoming a mum he said:“Cheryl seems in a good place. Having gone through it myself it is quite nerve racking, but this is going to be the making of her. From people I know who have been with her, apparently she’s ecstatic so I’m happy for her.”
While he admitted that he and Cheryl “were friends but not that friendly” he still has hopes that he could be playing an important role in the bubba’s life.
“I haven’t had the call yet but I would be a godfather if asked,” he added.
We would LOVE to see this happen!
Everyone is still reeling after Cheryl’s sudden surprise baby announcement in the form of a sweet Instagram post over the last month.
Sharing a sweet snap of Liam cradling their newborn son, Cheryl shared the happy news with her fans. The former X-factor judge revealed that the ‘beautiful’ and ‘healthy’ new arrival was born on Wednesday 22nd March, weighing 7lb 9. The new mum gushed that her little bundle was, “looking like a dream” and both parents were “madly in love and overwhelmingly happy”.
Liam also took to Instagram to share the couple’s happy news, and heap praise on Cheryl. “I’m completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this,” Liam gushed. “She’s really made my dreams come true.”
Although Cheryl revealed that her new baby boy, “still doesn’t have a name”, fans are already speculating what the proud parents may call him.
Cheryl let slip in the past what her favourite baby names are, saying “Of course I’ve thought about a baby names. A million times! I like Alfie for a little boy.”
Her boyfriend, 23-year-old Liam Payne, has also previously opened up his baby name ideas. In a past interview with Hits Radio the One Direction star revealed, “I like the name Taylor. Taylor’s pretty neutral for a boy or a girl.”
However, fans hoping to see more of Cheryl and Liam’s new baby are set for disappointment. It’s been revealed that the couple are determined to keep their child out of the spotlight. Apparently they want their son to, “grow up away from the cameras.”
“They’ve always been a very private couple and they want their son to remain private as well,” a source told the Daily Mirror. “They don’t want him to be in the spotlight at all.”
A royal recommendation
Could Cheryl have taken parenting tips from the royal family?
It seems that Cheryl and Liam took a leaf out of the Duchess of Cambridge’s book to prepare for their new arrival. A Silver Cross vehicle was spotted delivering goods to the singer’s UK home earlier this year. Silver Cross is one of the world’s leading nursery brands and they describe themselves as a ‘nursery specialist’.
The elite and discreet company has long been a tried and tested favourite of the royal family. No doubt Cheryl decided to take a leaf out of the Duchess of Cambridge’s book when planning for her new arrival. Kate had a pram from Silver Cross for her son Prince George! With prices starting at £475, Cheryl is certainly paying a royal price tag.
Girls band together
Cheryl has also recently been talking babies with former Girls Aloud band member Kimberley Walsh.
34-year-old Kimberley gave birth to her second son, Cole, earlier this year and Cheryl has been at her side every step of the way.
“Cheryl knew I wanted to have my children close together. So she’s happy that I’ve got another on the way,” Kimberley revealed to OK! Magazine.
“I’m sure she expected it in a way but she’s still over the moon for me,” she added.
In an earlier interview with the Sunday People, Kimberly – who is already mum to two-year-old Bobby – also spoke about the positive impact of Cheryl’s blossoming relationship with 1D’s Liam Payne. “She’s really happy right now. And she’ll be a brilliant mum.” Congratulations to Cheryl and Liam on their beautiful baby boy. We can’t wait to find out what they name the little one!
