After beating her close friends (and rivals) Andrew Smyth and Jane Beedle to be presented with the trophy by Mary and Paul, many forecast that Candice’s life would change forever as she became a British star set to make up to a million pounds from her talent.

However, despite a glitzy red carpet appearance at the Pride of Britain Awards where she rubbed shoulder with the stars, and a couple of glamorous nights out with her fellow GBBO contestants, Candice has revealed that her life is in fact carrying on as normal. At least for the time being!

The baking beauty, who became infamous for her love of a statement lipstick on the show, revealed in an interview with HELLO! Magazine that it was business as usual after the GBBO final. She told the magazine that she even went back to work the day after the final was aired.

“When I went into school after the final was on TV the kids went: ‘Why are you in, miss? You’re a millionaire!” Candice revealed.

It seemed that the biggest change in Candice’s life after the show may have been a surprise engagement to her long term love Liam. However, the teacher confessed that although they plan to get married one day, she’s not engaged yet!

“We’ll get married one day but there’s no rush” she revealed. “We’ll have kids too … Family is very important to us both … We want it all.”

“Liam is my biggest support. He tells me every day that he’s so proud of me.”
