The new series of Strictly Come Dancing got off to a flying start last week, but with someone set to leave the dancefloor this weekend, the pressure is well and truly on.
‘The standard’s just ridiculous,’ says Michael Vaughan. ‘This year there are seven or so proper movers, including Kimberley, Denise and Louis. But I think Jerry Hall might produce the dance of the week.’
Meanwhile, professional dancer Kristina Rihanoff, who’s partnered with actor Colin Salmon, admits Lisa Riley and Robin Windsor could be the couple to beat! ‘Lisa Riley was definitely a surprise,’ she says.
‘Personality-wise I think [her pairing with Robin Windsor] is the best pairing on the show, because they have so much fun together and I think Robin is the only person who can really bring the best out of Lisa.
‘He’s a very nurturing person. He tries his hardest to make you look like a princess on that floor.’
And our fingers are tightly crossed for Denise Van Outen and partner James Jordan after she suffered a neck injury in training, which a physiotherapist has confirmed to be mild whiplash. Will she make it to the show?
Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC1 tonight at 6:30pm, and again on Sunday at 6:50pm.
